Where would the lessons take place?
Our lessons typically take place in your home or online. We do have options for in-studio classes, located in Toronto & Scarborough. Contact us for more information!
How do online lessons work?
For Online lessons, we typically recommend having an instrument in your home. For voice, your instrument is internal - so no need for any equipment! We typically use skype or zoom, but we could use whatever method you’d prefer.
The answer is typically yes. For voice, we recommend having a piano or keyboard in home; though it is not necessary. For drums, we can start without an instrument and work our way up. For every other instrument - it is ideal to have your own instrument to practice on! If you need assistance finding the right product for you, we would be more than happy to help.
Do we need an instrument in our home?
We typically recommend students are at least 4 years old to start learning how to play their instrument. 4+ is a great age to learn drums/foundations of rhythm and piano. We recommend at least 6+ for ukulele and voice. And at least 8+ for guitar.
Adults of ANY age (no matter how young at heart) can learn how to play any instrument with the right dedication. It’s never too late to chase your passions!
What is the age range to take music lessons?
At JBMS we teach a variety of instruments:

Why are you called “Juicy Bowtie” Music School?
The story behind the name is a long and mysterious one - but we chose to keep this name because it’s something different! We are eclectic and fun and want to make sure our name reflects that!
How long and how frequent are the lessons?
We offer different lengths and frequencies of lessons, but we typically recommend 1 hour long lesson per week for a minimum of 6 months. We like to strive for consistency and long-term growth, so you can see the changes you want in your voice! We offer packages up front, month-to-month, casual lessons and year-long commitments.
